Amazon’s second Montana delivery station is up and running in Billings, just in time for the Holidays

Last mile facility launched on October 31st and serves customers within a 60-minute radius of Billings, Montana

November 21, 2024 (Billings, MT) – Amazon teams are now sorting and delivering packages in South Central Montana. The new delivery station located at 6767 Tun Tavern Road in Yellowstone County is the second operational site in the state, following the launch of a similar station in Missoula earlier this year. This new facility near Billings, known as WMT3, will bring a plethora of jobs to the region as the site continues to hire associates to sort items. Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) also continue to hire delivery drivers as they ramp up their independent teams working out of the facility.

“Montana welcomes the continued investment from Amazon as they expand their operations across the state and create more good-paying jobs,” Governor Greg Gianforte said. “Working alongside community partners, Amazon will strengthen our growing economy and bring faster and more efficient package delivery to our residents.”

The site launched with a team of a dozen associates and 20 drivers who processed and delivered around 1,500 packages on Day One. Throughout the holiday season we expect to send out approximately 40 drivers each day, and they’ll deliver nearly 8,000 packages daily.

“We have been able to steadily increase our staff since we launched, and by doing so, are bringing faster and faster delivery service to customers here in the Billings area. We couldn’t be more excited about the team we have in place, our future growth, and the upcoming opportunities we have to work with community partners and organizations that provide for people in need in the area,” WMT3 Site Leader Danny Woodruff said.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Amazon and the connectivity this facility will bring to our community and region. When our residents have access to meaningful employment, benefit opportunities, and the goods and services that power their day, our economy wins. The collaborative effort of Yellowstone County, the City of Billings, and Big Sky Economic Development, in partnership with major private investment, has attracted over $160 million and more than 200 jobs to our community in 2024,” shared Ashley Kavanagh, Senior Director of Recruitment and Community Development at Big Sky Economic Development.

Amazon will continue to hire new employees and drivers through the end of the year to work at both of Montana’s Amazon delivery stations. Job seekers are encouraged to visit //www.amazon/localjobs for job postings.

Amazon has invested more than $110 million in Montana since 2010, creating hundreds of full-and part-time jobs. Montana is also home to more than 1,000 independent sellers in Amazon’s store, and they sold more than 3 million items in 2023.
