There’s a new hand at the tiller of the Big Sky Economic Development.
Kimberly A. Bailey started her tenure as executive director on June 15 after relocating from Colorado and will lead the organization as it continues its work to support economic growth, business development and community investment throughout Yellowstone County and the region.
Bailey brings more than 14 years of economic and community development experience to the position. Most recently, she served as director of economic development and urban renewal for the city of Fountain, Colorado. In that role, she led projects focused on business investment, redevelopment, infrastructure planning and long-term economic growth. Throughout her career, she has worked with local governments, businesses, developers and community leaders to advance projects that strengthen local economies and create opportunities.
“Kimberly brings a proven track record in economic development and a deep understanding of the partnerships required to move communities forward,” board chair Lucy Aspinwall said. “The board is confident in her ability to lead the organization and build on the work already underway. The board wants to thank Brandon Berger for providing a steady hand throughout the transition and helping position the organization for continued success.”
Bailey was selected earlier this year following a nationwide search. Since that time, she has worked with BSED leadership and staff to prepare for the transition and become familiar with the organization’s priorities, ongoing projects, and regional partnerships.
“BSED has earned a strong reputation as an organization that gets things done,” Bailey said. “There is a great deal of work underway across the region, and I’m eager to contribute to that effort. Economic development is ultimately about creating opportunities for businesses, supporting communities and helping build a strong, resilient future. I am excited to get to work alongside our staff, community partners and stakeholders to continue moving these critical efforts forward.”
