Billings, Montana’s City | Talent Retention & Recruitment Project Update

Billings, Montana’s City

Thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s Better Off in Billings event on Thursday April 17th. We had a packed room at Craft Local, and the energy was all about momentum, community pride, and what’s ahead for our region.

One of the biggest highlights? The official launch of the Montana’s City brand—an identity built from your voices and a shared vision for Billings.

This brand wasn’t created in a vacuum. It’s the result of your participation in the BSED-DCI Talent Attraction & Retention Workshop last August, where community feedback and research made it clear: Montana’s City resonates. It’s a message we’ve been gradually weaving into our efforts over the past two years—on our website, at our Annual Meeting, and now, more prominently than ever.

At that workshop, you—alongside representatives from Yellowstone County, City of Billings, Visit Billings, Downtown Billings Alliance, and the Billings Chamber—shared a desire for a unifying identity to support talent and business recruitment. You asked for a brand that captures who we are, what we offer, and where we’re headed.

With your feedback in hand and the creative expertise of Graphic Finesse, we delivered: Billings, Montana’s City—a brand created by the community, for the community.

What’s Next

We’re now exploring an industry-specific campaign in partnership with dci that will allow our partners to incorporate Billings, Montana’s City messaging into sector-focused recruitment, workforce, and business attraction efforts. We’re actively collaborating with the Billings ChamberVisit Billings, industry partners, and other stakeholders to shape this direction—and we look forward to sharing more soon.

In the meantime, the Montana’s City logo is available to help you amplify your own campaigns, projects, and initiatives. You’ll also find branded merchandise that showcases your Billings pride—because when you know, you know: you’re better off in Billings.

Thank you for helping us shape and share the story of Montana’s City.
