BIG SKY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PAUL GREEN

BILLINGS, MT — Big Sky Economic Development (BSED) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Green as Executive Director, effective April 16, 2025. Green officially joined the organization earlier this month and has been working alongside outgoing Executive Director Steve Arveschoug to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Following a thorough national search led by a board-appointed committee, the BSED Board unanimously approved the committee’s recommendation to hire Green. The search process was led by Stefani Hicswa, Chancellor of City College and MSU Billings and BSED board members, in partnership with executive search firm Jorgenson Pace.

“We had an impressive group of candidates from across the country, but Paul’s leadership experience, economic development expertise, and deep roots in our region made him the right choice,” said Stefani Hicswa. “His understanding of rural and urban economic dynamics and his commitment to community impact align strongly with our mission.”

Green brings more than 25 years of experience in economic and community development, public service, and project leadership. Most recently, he served as Director of the Montana Department of Commerce, overseeing statewide initiatives in business development, housing, infrastructure, and tourism. His career includes leadership roles in local government, private consulting, and federal service.
