Meet Rock31 Member – Alex Winchell!

Alex is the owner of Yellowstone Digital Media, which provides website design and digital marketing for small businesses and non-profits.

We asked Alex to answer a few questions to help us get to know him, check them out below!

Where were you/what were you doing before you started your business?

I created and ran the online game Politics and War (politicsandwar.com)

What sparked your passion/the idea for your business?

I wanted to help people with local small businesses that were being overcharged for websites and not getting very good work done.

Give a brief timeline of your startup:

I started the business in 2019 and have been running and growing since.

What was/is the nitty gritty of starting a (your) business?

Figuring out standard operating procedures, hiring and managing people, and figuring out the finances.

How did you overcome/brush-off the nitty gritty?

Just figure it out one small piece at a time!

What are you most excited about for being a part of Rock31?

The community and getting to connect with other local entrepreneurs.

What are some of your hobbies/interests (outside of the office)?

Golf, camping, fishing, hunting, snowboarding.

What is the best book you have ever read?

Best recent book is Mind Prey by John Sanford, great crime novel.

A genie grants you the ability to have an infinite amount of one item. What is it?

Gold bars – you could exchange these for just about anything else you want.
